Jose Oliva is a product of the American Dream. Oliva was born on January 6, 1973 in New Jersey, moved to Hialeah in 1974, and grew up right in House District 110. Oliva is a successful product of Miami-Dade’s public schools, right in House District 110 – Twin Lakes Elementary, Palm Springs Junior High, and Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High. With the exception of one single year, Oliva has always lived in the district he now serves in the State Legislature.

Jose Oliva’s bedrock conservative values and principles originate from his mother’s and father’s influence. The Oliva family’s roots are from San Juan y Martinez, Pinar del Rio, Cuba. In 1995, they started their family cigar manufacturing business out of their home, then moved the business into District 110 in 2002. The Oliva family business is a 4 th Generation tobacco family that employs fifty people in the U.S.

Oliva and high school sweetheart, Jeanne Oliva, were married in November of 1999. They have three beautiful children, Celeste, Sabrina, and Benjamin. Jose’s family drives his desire to make Florida a great place to live and work.

Jose Oliva is a lifelong Republican who possesses a commitment to public service and community involvement. Jose brings his successful business experience and conservative values to the State Legislature, and fights for the best interests of Hialeah, Miami Lakes, and all of the residents of Florida.

Oliva’s community involvement can be best characterized as: quiet advocacy for causes he deeply cares for and believes in. He has been a long time advocate and ardent supporter of organizations whose primary goal is to achieve freedom and democracy in Cuba. In addition, below is a list of Jose Oliva’s memberships and involvement:
